I am a person who is constantly assessing lifestyle habits. Of course, I assess my own daily habits but I also get paid to assess the habits of others too. Clients pay me to scrutinize their daily routines, their diets, their mindsets, their relationships, their lives.
I always begin my relationship with a new client by doing a total lifestyle assessment. How does she eat, sleep, move, deal with stress, is she happy, what are her top goals? How are her relationships at home and work? Is she living an authentic life and does she really know who she is? How is she managing her money, her time, her energy? The list goes on.
My clients ask me to do all this scrutiny for multiple reasons. First, they’re ready to start making improvements in some area of their lives. Secondly, they want to feel like they’re making progress towards their goals and last but not least, they just want to be happier and have more fulfillment! On some level, they know there are habits they’re either doing or NOT doing that are holding them back. They want my help in shining the light on these habits and to help find the strength to go about changing these habits for the better.
Not everyone is good at calling themselves out and not everyone wants to. It’s not easy sometimes, to be honest with yourself about lifestyle habits that can be holding you back. Giving these habits up or adding in new ones can sometimes be tricky to implement on your own.
Common Success Habits Emerged
Through the years of analyzing the daily habits of myself and hundreds of women, there began to emerge some top, key habits that I discovered are pretty universal and even apply to men as well. I came to understand there are common characteristics of the most successful people I worked with and many of the women who came to me for help, were NOT doing these success habits on a regular basis. They knew something had to change!
What’s cool and exciting is that the daily habits that lead to success were not hard to figure out. The most challenging thing to me was trying to answer the question, “why is everyone not doing this stuff?” To me, these habits were a no-brainer. I am excited to share with you what I found!
5 Habits That Will Radically Change Your Life
The MOST successful women I know and admire do ALL of these things. These are the success habits that began to emerge as I started to pay attention. I can tell you from my own life, these are the success habits I’ve been cultivating for decades. Do you incorporate these habits into your own life? Let’s find out!
1. Have Respect For Your Body & Health
It should come as no surprise that successful women make it a priority to exercise REGULARLY. Not necessarily daily, but 4-5 days a week come rain or shine. It’s 2019, this is not up for debate. THEY JUST DO IT! They do this to maintain good health, stress relief, to maintain energy and just simply out of respect for the gift they’ve been given. Having respect for your body also means you aren’t actively doing things to compromise it.
Also, successful women have given up their vices. They’ve stopped smoking, drinking excessively, taking drugs unnecessarily and eating low level food such as fast food. Having respect for your body means putting it and yourself at the top of the priority list, not the bottom. Successful women know that if they don’t take care of themselves, it will slow them down and that’s NOT a part of the vision they have for their lives.
2. Have a Clear Life Vision
One of the major habits of the women I observed is that they all have a VERY clear vision of what they want to accomplish. In the beginning, they may still be finding their strength to pursue it, but one thing is certain…EVERY women that is ready to make changes has gotten crystal clear about what she will and will NOT put up with in her life. She has had enough of the mediocrity and is ready to take charge. She’s gotten sick and tired of being sick and tired. Clarity of her future is the name of the game here. Way more than half the battle, is getting clear about where you’re going in your life. Get clear and the path begins to present itself to you!
3. You Get Good at Saying No
When you find the strength to say NO to the things that are no longer serving you, you know you’ve arrived. It takes a strong, confident person to say no to the food, the alcohol, the debt, the people and the places that you KNOW are not helping you succeed. The women I’ve helped learn how to say NO, and have literally become different “beings.” They’ve shed that insecure persona and are now standing in the truth of who they really are. When you get clear about who you are and what you want, saying NO becomes a piece of cake! You’ll smile and wonder how those toxic habits ever had power over you in the first place.
4. You’re Willing to Learn & Grow
I can always tell if I’m going to have a successful experience with a new client, if I can sense that she’s OPEN. If she’s open-minded and is eager to learn new ideas then I know there’s hope for her to succeed. When someone already thinks they know it all, well those people tend to weed themselves out pretty quickly. If that person has too many excuses or reasons why they can’t implement changes, then I know she’s really just not ready. A HUGE sign of being on the verge of major life change is beginning to become more open to learning new ideas and ways of looking at things. When I can sense that a new client respects my knowledge and is willing to trust my expertise, I know she’s going to do well!
5. You’ve Learned to Tap into Your Focus & Discipline
Now I realize some of us are born with personalities that seem more naturally inclined to be disciplined or focused. Some of us were raised this way and other not so much. One thing I’ve seen in the women I’ve worked with is that even those who aren’t NATURALLY disciplined somehow find a MASSIVE reserve of it when their DESIRE for something is strong enough.
Take a bride-to-be for example. You give me a girl about to walk down the aisle, in the wedding of her dreams and I’ll show you the EPITOME of focus! LOL! I’ve never seen anything quite like it. She’ll give up EVERYTHING (alcohol, sugar, bread, sleeping in, going out etc.) to reach her goal. Trust me, when your desire is strong enough, you WILL find the discipline and focus you never knew was there. I’ve seen it many times!
